When I feel the kids (or myself for that matter) need more greens in their day I add a teaspoon of wheatgrass powder. It contains a whopping 70% chlorophyll and a nutritional profile that matches fresh vegetables. It also detoxifies the liver and aids the digestive system and is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties.  I also use the Healthy Chef Natural Immune Support powder to boost our immune systems naturally as it is rich in vitamin C & D and is made from natural ingredients such as ginger, turmeric and Echinacea.  Another tip is to add powdered collagen to smoothies or even to your morning coffee, oatmeal or juice will deliver you a wallop of protein and help keep you feeling satiated.  It also soothes achey joints and can improve gut health. I've also heard it reduces the appearance of wrinkles!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice

1 medium frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

1/2 cup frozen mango

Handful baby spinach leaves

1 - 2 tablespoons collagen powder

1 tablespoon almond butter

1 teaspoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon Healthy Chef Cold-Pressed Organic Wheatgrass powder

1 teaspoon Healthy Chef Natural Immune Support powder

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until smooth and serve immediately.
